Ways to Help

Many are not able to physically commit to Salkehatchie, but ask "What Can I Do?"

It takes a village to make our camp successful.  No matter who you are, there are plenty of ways to help!

Help With A Meal

Local churches and groups help feed us during the week by providing a meal.  Can't provide a meal?  No problem!  Monetary donations are welcome and go a long way to help with meals during camp.

Drinks & Snacks

The work week is usually a hot one!  Bottled water, gatorade, powerade, and snacks help to keep youth and adult volunteers hydrated and energized during the work week.  Donations can be dropped off at the Central United Methodist Church Family Life Center the week before and during camp.

Provide Cool Treats

The work week is usually a hot one!  (It is worth saying again!)  Youth and adult volunteers enjoy getting surprised at the work site with popsicles, slushies, and other cool treats.  When the treats arrive, it's the perfect time for a break.  If you're interested in visiting the work sites with a treat during the work week, contact the directors and let us know.

Spread the Word

Take information about our camp back to your churches and friends.  Salkehatchie is for everyone!  You don't have to be affiliated with the United Methodist Church to participate

Monetary Donations

We rely heavily on monetary support from churches, businesses, groups, and individuals in our community to help with the cost of building supplies to support our work.  Donations can be made at anytime during the year.  All monetary donations stay right here in Newberry County to help our friends and neighbors. â€‹

Most Importantly ... Pray!

Please pray for our camp, community, and volunteers as we endeavor to carry out the mission of Salkehatchie Summer Service.
